Creative Approach #1 (Scrapped)
My first idea for an output was an illustrated storybook /storybook animation. I have however decided to retire this idea. This is for a number of reasons. The main reason is that after conducting market research I have discovered there are already a number of different Irish mythology books for children. I feel my efforts would be better spent at exploring a different medium for my output instead of adding to the already established children's mythology book section.
Creative Approach #2
My second approach is to create an illustrated board game. The game will be set in ancient Ireland and feature characters from Irish mythology as well as Irish mythological objects. The characters will be used as playing pieces, so children can choose their favourite character and play as them. As of now I want the game to be set around going around the board and collecting the mythological objects, and whoever gets the most objects first wins the game. This creative approach is the one I am most excited about and confident in. The board game format is engaging and fun, which is what I want to achieve.
Creative Approach #3
My third approach is a card game with illustrations of the Irish mythological characters. At the moment my idea for this is to be trivia related. Possibly a quick fire quiz game where players read clues off the cards and have to guess the story or character from the clues they are given. The first person to guess the right answer wins a point, and the person with the most points at the end wins.
However there is also the opportunity to create trading cards based on the different characters from Irish mythological stories. These would be a similar idea to Match Attax or Pokémon cards.
